Perfect weather is what they are predicting for this weekend. And though 'they' are never perfect, we choose to believe it, which means you're going to want to come down to the Printers Row Book Fair, and waddle up and down Dearborn with thousands of other waddlers. June 9 and 10, from 10-6pm. It's good people watching, good book buying, and good fun. We're thankful to say that we'll be there, sharing a table with Switchback Books, who have just released their first book, Talk Shows, by Mónica de la Torre. We're on the south side of Polk, right by Federal. We'll have Degrees of Separation available for your perusal. And this fair marks the debut of the 'letterTee.' What's that, you say? Well, the sales pitch is lousy, so you'll have to come see for yourself. We'll have it up on the site soon. We will also have many minis, lovingly folded by Abby and Mark, the newest additions to featherproof's corporate roster. So, come on down, bring your big floppy hat, your fannypack and your best waddle. It's going to be perfect.
Also, mark you calendar now for our big, brassy release party for Degrees of Separation. Tuesday, June 19th. We've got the postcards debuting in their own gallery opening at Suzanne Cummings, 630 West Webster Ave., from 6-8pm. There will be food and drink, and high-minded discussion of art and design. And then we'll let loose down the street at The Apartment, 2251 North Lincoln Ave, from 8-12am. The designers will be there, as well as some New Orleans music and a lot of raucous fun. All this is free.
We want to see you all the time!
Love,

We couldn't be more thrilled: It's time to release Degrees of Separation!
This project has been a long time in the making, and we've got a date for the official Chicago unveiling! Check the poster:
Mark your calender. We'll be sending out reminders, in case you didn't mark your calender, just then, when we asked you to. |

Hey Friend of the Feather,
We've got a little something to brighten your weekend. Better than spring: it's two new minis! The Camp Psychic, by Kevin Sampsell, of the most awesome Future Tense Books, and Flash Flicker Fire by Chicago's own Mary Hamilton. Print them out, take them to the park with you, read them while your friends are playing frisbee. You won't be sorry.
.....
After that, you should head over to the Hip Lit Fair at the MCA, where featherproof will have one of our famous 'tables'. Check it:
Hip Lit Fair
Sunday, May 13, noon - 4 pm MCA
Located in the Robert B. and Beatrice C. Mayer Education Center Lobby
Admission is free
Co-presented with Quimby's, the MCA's second annual alternative book fair celebrates independent press in all forms: zines, comics, graphic novels, artist books, etc. This rare opportunity to purchase unique art books at a minimal price includes a children's section and art-making activities. Special guests are Esther Pearl Watson and Mark Todd, authors of "Whatcha mean, What's a Zine?"
See you soon sunshine,
the proof
